Retraining Credit for Storage/Distribution Company

Situation

An Atlanta based storage/distribution company had invested heavily in deploying streamlined and updated warehouse technologies, including migration from traditional paper documentation for transactions to RF, and implementation of next-generation inventory and order management systems. The investment included significant middle-management time designing and implementing the new technology, and training the shop floor workers to use it efficiently and effectively. This human investment in developing and delivering the training programs was substantial.

Issues

The company, with several locations in Georgia, including its Atlanta facility, was unaware of the availability of the GA Retraining Tax Credit, and lacked the both the resources to manage the claim preparation process, and the sophistication to manage the large volumes of complex data manipulation required for the claim computation and submission.

Outcome

finanSight worked with the client and its CPA firm and recovered a significant multi-year retraining tax credit, and continues to work with the company for current and future credits on the continuing evolution of the warehouse systems and other investments in the business technology. In addition Alpharesults helped the client file significant Georgia Jobs Tax Credits.
